Can’t say I’m surprised that Vance Joseph will still be on the Broncos’ sidelines, with that deer in the headlights look. GM John Elway is “encouraged” with the close games Denver has played. It’s true that Denver lost their last three games by a total of 12 points, but this team still is a long ways away from being a playoff contender. The loss of Matt Paradis is a major blow to the Broncos’ chances of getting to seven or eight wins. VJ continues to have clock management issues that have cost this team and will continue to do so until Elway finds a better captain for this ship.
While the Broncos stink, the Nuggets are red-hot! Their 9-1 win start has been fun to watch. Joker, Murray and Harris are the core, but the Nugs bench on Monte Morris, Juancho and Lyles give Denver great young depth. It will be interesting to see how the rotation looks when Isaiah Thomas can finally play.
CMU football team plays their final game Saturday at NM Highlands. The Mavs were hoping for a playoff year, but their were too many holes to fill with young players. That said, next year looks really good with top receiver Peter Anderson back along with young running back Lake Makakona.
High school playoffs start this weekend and the TEAM has you covered. A great 4A match-up with Fruita Monument against Central. Warriors beat the Wildcats 13-9, but Fruita’s offensive unit has improved a ton since that loss. Palisade gets the top seed in 3A as they host Ft. Morgan Saturday. Bulldogs QB Cam Tucker is one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the classification. Rifle heads to Resurrection Christian for their 2A quarterfinal. The Bears” Tanner Vines has been a beast in the Rifle ground attack. Catch all those games on The TEAM. Check our schedule for games times.
